We were established by the health sector to help improve the standards and performance of health and disability services. We undertake surveys and audits and recognise achievement through awarding accreditation status and other certificates of endorsement and achievement. Our clients are District Health Boards, hospitals, rest homes, mental health services, community and home care services, hospices, disability services, primary care services, Maori health providers and health non-profit organisations.
Telarc Quality Health has been designated as an auditing agency by the Ministry of Health under the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001. This means that we can undertake audits to the approved sector standards for the purposes of Ministry of Health certification through an audit to the sector standards.
In early 2007, the board of Quality Health New Zealand was approached by Telarc SAI Ltd, New Zealand's largest certification body, with an offer to merge the two organisations. The board accepted this offer and Telarc Quality Health is now an operating division of Telarc SAI Ltd.
